Head of Department
It is my responsibility to ensure that all players in the oil and gas sector, particularly within the petroleum industry, recognize that excellence in environmental management, health and safety, and community relations is fundamental. These practices not only protect people and conserve resources but also reflect the effectiveness of management systems and enhance business outcomes.
Together with my team, we embed environmental, health, safety, and social considerations into the management of Ghana’s petroleum resources. Our objective is to minimize negative impacts while maximizing the benefits for Ghanaians and other key stakeholders throughout the full cycle of petroleum resource development.
In pursuit of this objective, we have developed comprehensive frameworks for mitigation, management, monitoring, and institutional measures. Industry players and relevant public sector institutions work collaboratively to eliminate, offset, or reduce adverse impacts to acceptable levels.
In addition, we regulate the petroleum industry and its related activities in strict accordance with our Enforcement Policy, ensuring compliance, accountability, and sustainable development across the sector.
